NHS FPX 6008 Assessment 4 Lobbying for Change
Dear Sir,
I am addressing my writing to raise awareness about a very serious problem of understaffing of nursing in hospitals and other healthcare facilities in the state of Washington. Under-staffing adds to the delayed treatment, reduced quality of care, and increased rates of preventable complications, which overload patients and their families (Senek et al., 2022).
With the solution to this problem, hospitals will anticipate better patient safety, increased morale among nurses, lower turnover, and increased resource efficacy. On the other hand, the situation of not taking any action is likely to lead to increased operational expenses, burnout among nurses, decreased patient satisfaction, and increased healthcare disparities (Barlean, 2024).
There is some evidence that the application of specific recruitment, retention incentives, and safe staffing policies can serve to positively impact such adverse outcomes and ensure fair, quality care across the state of Washington.
